About your Rear Camera Mirror
If your vehicle has this available feature, Rear Camera Mirror
Using your Rear Camera Mirror
Rear Camera Mirror allows you to choose between a traditional rearview mirror or a camera view unobstructed by the vehicle’s pillars, trunk, roof, head restraints and rear-seat occupants.
A rear-looking camera located at the back of your vehicle shows an image of the area behind your vehicle in the rearview mirror. The camera’s location may vary depending on the vehicle.
Switch between the Rear Camera Mirror and the traditional rearview mirror by pulling or pushing the tab under the inside rearview mirror. Adjust the traditional mirror first, then change to the Rear Camera Mirror.
If your vehicle is OFF, your vehicle’s mirror will default to the traditional rearview mirror.
To adjust your Rear Camera Mirror’s image, use one of the following methods depending on the model:
- Your vehicle may be equipped with a button on the rear of the mirror to adjust brightness only.
- Some vehicles may instead be equipped with three MENU buttons to the right of the tab under the mirror. These allow you to switch between adjusting brightness, tilt and zoom, which may help you see specific areas behind you better.
- Press the LEFT button to switch between adjusting the brightness, tilt or zoom.
- Press the CENTER or RIGHT button to select the desired adjustment.
- The icons you see on your mirror may vary depending on your vehicle.
Washing your Rear Camera Mirror (if equipped)
You may use Camera Wash (if equipped) to keep the image clear without getting out of your vehicle.
In an SUV or crossover, when the rear window washer is used, the camera for the Rear Camera Mirror is also washed.
In a sedan without a rear window washer, there may be a separate control for Camera Wash (if equipped). Look for it at the end of the wiper stalk, marked with both VIDEO and WASH icons. If the control is a rotating knob, turn the control away from you to wash the camera for the Rear Camera Mirror; if the control is a push-button, simply push the button at the end of the wiper stalk.
On some other vehicles without a rear window washer, there is a dial on the stalk labeled with a camera icon and the word REAR. Rotate that dial towards you to spray washer fluid on the rear camera.
